How do I transfer files over my home network to different computers?

Ben Mason asked:

I have two laptops, two computers and an XBOX 360 all connected to the same router. The 360 and one of the desktop computers are wired to the router. The two laptops and other desktop computer are connected via wireless.

Usually I open up to separate MSN accounts on the two different computers I want to transfer the files between and then send them that way but I was wondering if there was actually a proper way to transfer files over my home network?

Here are the proper steps in sharing files over your network.
    1. All your items you want to share- place in a folder.
    2. Right click on the folder and goe to sharing and security
    3. Click on share this folder and give it a name.
    4. Click on the security Tab on top.
    5. Click on add and type everyone
    6. Give full permissions check all the boxes click ok.
    7. Click apply and close out the box.
    8. On the other computer you are trying to pull the information from.
    9. Right click on my computer
    10. Map Network drive
    11. Assign whatever drive you want.
    12. In the folder section you will need to type example \\mycomputer\shared folder

The mycomputer part is the name of the computer where the shared folder is – the shared folder is the name of the shared folder you have setup. Hope this helps
